Underground Atlanta's Peach Drop on Dec. 31st, 2008 is a full day of family fun and an evening of top-notch entertainment. This is the Southeast's largest New Year's celebration boasting a crowd of an estimated 70,000 - 100,000 in attendance to the area of Downtown Atlanta. Most genres will be considered, but please keep in mind this is a family oriented event and thus acts that maintain a high level of professionalism and fun atmosphere will be accepted.
Sponsors include Air Tran, My ATL TV, The Sunday Paper, Cooper Atlanta, Marta and the city of Atlanta. Compensation is considered on how long the act plays and the name value of the act. All acts will be paid.
All Sonicbids members will have a strong consideration, however they are looking mostly for Georgia based artists. This year's main stage headliner is Julianne Hough of ABC's Dancing With the Stars and country music fame. The main stage will be televised across the country and be visible by more than 30 million homes.
Beginning with children activities, Underground Atlanta will buzz with activities for the entire family! As 2009 nears, the main stage will light up with live performances and the 800 pound Peach will begin its decent just before the clock strikes midnight.

MUSEXPO is an unprecedented opportunity to showcase your band in front of an exclusive group of high-level international music and media professionals. This group will include label presidents, A&R and publishing executives, programmers from the world's most influential and artist-friendly radio stations, film/TV and interactive music supervisors, talent bookers/promoters as well as press and new media executives.
Official MUSEXPO Los Angeles 2009 showcases will be held on April 26th - April 29th, 2009 at the legendary House of Blues on the Sunset Strip, which is just across the street from the host conference hotel.
All requests go through a rigorous selection process. A very limited number of artists - approximately 25 - will be selected to perform at this exclusive event. There will be only alternating showcases with none overlapping the other to ensure maximum impact and visibility for every showcasing artist. The selection process will be undertaken by the globally respected artist discovery and development firm A&R Worldwide and MUSEXPO staff members. All accepted acts will be informed of their status by early-February 2009.
MUSEXPO is using Sonicbids for its submissions. Genres preferred include Rock, Alternative, Pop, Hip-Hop and Singer-Songwriter.
Artists who have showcased at MUSEXPO since its inception back in 2005 that have gone on to secure recording, publishing, management and music placement contracts include: Soshy (Sony Music Int'l), Evermore (Sire Records/Warner Music), The Dares (Jive Records), Pilot Speed (Wind-Up), Goldenhorse (FKP Scorpio, Germany), Bloodpit (SonyBMG, Germany), Shifter (Boo! The St Jerome's Laneway Festival is coming to Perth for the very first time in a special twilight event. The Path to Laneway is a competition in which you can earn your slot on St Jerome's Laneway Festival on 6th February, at the Perth Cultural Centre. The festival will feature performances by Girl Talk, Stereolab, Architechture in Helsinki, The Hold Steady, The Drones, Cut Off Your Hands, Four Tet, Tame Impala, El Guincho, Jay Reatard, Buraka Som Sistema, The Temper Trap, No Age, The John Steel Singers, Canyons, Pivot, Port O'Brien, Holly Throsby, Born Ruffians, Mountains in the Sky, Time Fite, Still Flyin, Daedelus, Spiral Stairs and so many more great acts.
12 Sonicbids acts will be chosen to compete in Path to Laneway's 3 heats on the 8th, 15th and 22nd of January at the Amplifier Bar in Perth 7th, 15th, and 21st Jan at the Rosemount Hotel in Perth. The first place winners from each heat and one lucky wildcard competing at the Final on Thursday 29th January Wednesday 28th January. The winner of the Final will be invited to play at the St Jerome's Laneway Festival at the Perth Cultural Centre.
Submissions will be accepted from all emerging, original, unsigned (to a major record label) Western Australian acts. All band members must be over 18 years old to enter.

The Blues, Jazz & Folk Music Society of Marietta, Ohio will hold its 17th Annual "River City Ohio Blues Competition" on February 20 and 21, 2009 at The Lafayette Hotel in historic downtown Marietta. For the 17th year, Blues bands and solo/duo blues acts will compete for cash prizes and BJFMS sponsorship to The Blues Foundation's International Blues Challenge (IBC) held every year in Memphis, Tennessee.
The River City Ohio Blues Competition is the oldest and largest blues talent competition in Ohio, with 18 competition slots to be filled by local and regional blues acts. Blues bands and solo/duo blues acts will compete for more than 2 days to win the grand prize of ,000 cash and sponsorship to the 2010 IBC in Memphis, TN. Second and third place winners will receive 0 and 0 cash prizes respectively. The Competition has no restrictions on age or location, however all competitors must be blues acts. The College of Idaho (2009)

The College of Idaho is a small, private liberal arts college with close to 950 students.
The main venues are the Pub (seats 50), the Langroise Recital Hall (seats 198) and our outdoor Quad (capacity of about 1500). Submitting artists will be considered for all venues and the college will determine final location. Their Program Council is a group of elected students who will make all final decisions of who to book and will ONLY accept EPKs.
Bands and artists will be compensated. Range depends on the budget year, usually up to ,000 plus travel and lodging. They book mostly local or regional artists (depending on cost).
Winterfest and Spring Fling are two of their biggest events- both are major concerts/parties. The College of Idaho is looking for UPBEAT bands for these events. They also try to make their event planning diverse, booking at least one concert, comedian, speaker, and variety act between September and May.

The International Festival4Stars Songwriting Competition began in The UK in 2004. Festival4Stars is an international talent search which is now offering 12 songwriters an all-expenses-paid trip to perform live in London and 4 grand prizes of ,000. The competition is open to artists from all around the world, however all lyrics must be in English. There are three heats to the competition, and 4 artists will be selected from each heat to advance to the final live competition at the Grange City Hotel in London in front of a panel of judges, including Robin Gibb from The Bee Gee's. The live competition will be held on November 1st, 2009.
The International Festival4Stars Songwriting Competition is accepting submissions in 4 categories. One winner will be selected from each of the four following categories to receive the 00 prizes:
Pop and Rock
Singer/Songwriter
Country, Folk, Traditional
R&B, Soul, Rap
Entries will be judged by a panel of music industry professionals; including songwriters, record producers, publishers and managers from all over the world. This is a great chance for any artist to receive a 00 cash prize and an all-expenses-paid trip to compete live in London.

POP Montreal is a grass roots festival created and supported by people who love music and live performance. Founded in 2002 by fans and supporters of music, it has expanded in scope and vision every year, and will celebrate its 8th anniversary from September 30th to October 4th this fall.

The Illinois Special Events Network Convention is a two day event designed for people who manage, plan, and organize festivals and special events. 8 artists will be chosen to showcase at the convention in front of 150 festival and event planners. These planners are from park districts, chambers, villages and festival organizations in Illinois. Many are looking to book the entertainment for their events. Along with the entertainment showcase, the convention offers educational sessions, a marketing awards luncheon, and a vendor expo.
The Entertainment Showcase takes place on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 from 4:15 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Artists will be allowed 15 minutes to perform. All genres are accepted.
The deadline to submit your electronic press kit is January 5th, and a committee made up of ISEN board members will review the submissions. Those not chosen to perform will be allowed to pass out promotional materials at a table in the hallway during the showcase. You will be notified by January 15th if your act will perform.
Each Showcase participant will be provided a table in the hallway to book business during the showcase. Entertainment showcase participants may prepare their table between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2009.

AthFest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit annual music and arts festival in downtown Athens, Georgia that largely showcases the Athens area musical and artistic community. AthFest's mission is to educate citizens and visitors about music and arts in general, and about Athens music and arts in particular.
Music is an integral part of Athens, Georgia's history. It has spawned a wealth of talent from the earlier well-knowns such as R.E.M., the B-52's, Love Tractor, Pylon, Neutral Milk Hotel and Dreams So Real to more recent breakouts such as Of Montreal, The Whigs and Modern Skirts.
For 2009, Athfest will select a minimum of 5 in-state and 2 out-of-state Sonicbids artist to perform. With the exception of the headlining acts, all bands will receive a 0 stipend, as well as wristbands for the event.
Since the first Athfest in 1997, the festival has had more than 100 bands play per year, on average - the majority of them from the Athens area. Over 20,000 people attend over 4 days. While the festival has grown and added new segments such as an Artistisan Market and KidsFest, the music is what drives this festival and makes it great to share with the community and visitors.
Much of Athfest is free, while wristbands or cover charges are required for certain events.
This year's Athfest will be taking place June 25-28, 2009 and will feature 2 outdoor stages as well as a Club Crawl, which begins as soon as the outdoor stages close at 10pm. The club crawl takes place across 15 venues throughout downtown Athens. At least one Sonicbids artist will be selected to play as part of the club crawl.
Also, all artists selected to play will be eligible for the Athfest Podcast.
Please note: Athfest books mostly regional talent from the Athens, GA area. Since Athfest is particularly interested in having local and regional artists submit, the price has been lowered for those artists to encourage them to submit. In 2001, the Sistahood Celebration started as a one-day event featuring an all-female line up of spoken word and hip hop performers and filmmakers. Its Geek Week 3.0! Located in Montpelier, VT, this is Langdon Street Cafe's third year of geekiness, tweekiness and techno-incredibleness, scheduled for March 10-16, 2009. Last year, over 200 attended the event that historically features 6-10 bands. The normally quiet and comfortable cafe becomes an undulating mass of techno-tronic super mega geekiness. Just like mom's basement, only they serve beer.
Seeking freaks and geeks and acts of all shapes and sizes. If you have an act that incorporates home-made instruments, midi controllers, lights and projectors, costumes and fantasy, this is the week you've been waiting for. Magicians and mentalists welcome.
If your band is themed out in fantasy, sci-fi, or conspiracy, get some geek on at the Geek Week 3.0. They usually pass the bucket for our bands, but sometimes other methods can be arranged. There is a sound system, two sets of monitors, and mics. The cafe will host an internet cafe for the week, as well as a video game emulator and plenty of extra geekery.

Toronto Exclusive Magazine Project Showcase & Artist CD Sale is an monthly music industry showcase based in Toronto and other cities. It provides a platform for aspiring and established artists, companies, producers and promoters to meet and perform in front of a live and appreciative audience. The showcase is also available to record labels, production and management companies wishing to promote their artists. This upcoming showcase will take at the Smiling Budhha Lounge, November 25 and 26, 2008. More dates TBA!
Local and regional acts are welcome to submit, as well as acts who will be touring through Toronto. Check with organizers first for dates and eligibility. Multiple artists perform at each showcase, often up to 10 per night.
An in-house PA system is provided. A drum kit is also provided, but check for availability first. Artists performing with tracks will need to bring them on a CD and labeled with their name and track numbers. There are many slots reserved per show for Sonicbids artists.
Artists performing on the showcase should have promotional items- CDs, flyers, t-shirts, etc. in order to take advantage of this great promotional opportunity. Artists must be at least 19 years old. Artists who use profanity in their music or that have a negative image cannot participate.
Accepted genres include but not limited rock, pop, folk, singer/songwriter, jazz, world, dance, pop, r&b, latin, gospel.
Industry professionals are invited and are usually in attendance regularly at the events. Artists are allowed to invite additional industry people to scout them.
