What is K.I.L.R.O.Y?

K.I.L.R.O.Y. is a great new way for unsigned bands and artists to generate awareness and gain honest industry advice. K.I.L.R.O.Y., which stands for Keeping the Industry Living by Recordings Of Youth, is a service package for unsigned artists that includes limited specialty radio promotion and general support. K.I.L.R.O.Y.'s purpose is to generate awareness of artists without label backing in the A&R community.

Like a mother lode of mentors, the community surrounding K.I.L.R.O.Y. consists of about 175 key industry insiders ranging from A&R, radio programmers, booking agents, publicists, MTV executives and other industry folks who, upon being presented with music from an unsigned band, will provide career advice and possibly connections to aid the advancement of the band.

K.I.L.R.O.Y. panellists will listen to and score and offer feedback for artist submissions, and panellists may choose to offer individual advice to certain artists. Member artists will be listed as a K.I.L.R.O.Y. featured artist for one full month, and then archived in the K.I.L.R.O.Y. database for one full year.

How do you join?

If you are a band/artist, your can apply for K.I.L.R.O.Y. by going to the website at www.joinkilroy.com . Artists will be required to submit an mp3 of only one track that best represents them, website address, myspace address, a band photo, album artwork, email address, phone number, and a key contact name.

Artists are encouraged to submit content for review at no cost. From there, K.I.L.R.O.Y. staffers (from UNCLE www.unclepromo.com) will select a limited number of bands/artists to be posted on K.I.L.R.O.Y. One artist will be selected each week. If you are selected, you will be featured for one month, and then archived for one full year. K.I.L.R.O.Y. staff is available 24/7. Featured artists will be required to pay a $200 flat rate one time membership fee in exchange for use of the K.I.L.R.O.Y. network.
